Andy: "The Three 'R's"

Curriculum Vitae
The Three 'R's is made up of a load of old songs that never made it into any other collection. It is meant to round off my musical output up to the year 2000 (together with my other 3 CDs), although really there are still a lot of unrecorded works in my files. On the whole this is a CD of very bad recordings of very bad songs, but there's a couple worth listening to in there.
As my youthful exhuberance was replaced by the working week, and my innocent sheen by the patina of adult responsibility, inspiration gradually left me stranded. In truth, I didn't miss it, which is probably why it left. The piano gathered dust, the guitar went out of tune, and thus they remain. I think the final nail in the coffin was Tanya. I always needed to be depressed and wallowing in it to get my inspiration, and she simply makes that impossible. So don't expect CD no. 5 in a hurry.

Space Nasties From Mars This song was written for Trolley to cash in on the success of 'Decide' and the like. Unfortunately it came just as we were winding up, and I don't think we ever played it live. This recording was made at home, with acoustic guitar, electric piano, and the drums are my jingling keys and banging on the table.
Joan We're All Alone The final ASB song, that was recorded, but lost somewhere along the line. This recreation tries to use the piano sond and vocal style of the original. We were trying to emulate our idols (The Beatles) in their psychedelic period, and were trying desparately to sond like we were high on drugs the whole time. The result is at times quite amusing, and at other times, not all that bad!
Rhapsody on Mary Had a Little Lamb Definately the gem of this CD. Daniel and I had recently discovered the joys of improvisation, and were now coming to terms with minimalist music and avant garde jazz. This is a 7-minute masterpiece of free-form atonalist collaboration on a single keyboard. Or, at lest, we had a damn fine time.
